Chittorgarh
is located in the southern part of the state of Rajasthan,
in the northwestern part of India. It is located beside
a high hill near the Gambhiri River. It is 112 km from Udaipur
and 182 km from Ajmer. The climate of Chittorgarh is arid.
Chittaurgarh district lies in the south-eastern part of
the State. It is surrounded by Kota in the east and Neemuch
district of Madhya Pradesh and Banswara in the south-west,
Udaipur and Rajsamand in the west and Bhilwara and Bundi
in the north. The Fort of Chittorgarh is a treasure trove
of history and offers to the traveler an insight into the
life of the Great Rajpoot rulers, who laid down their lives
fighting against the superior enemies instead of leading
a life of submission under them. As per 2001 census details
population of city is 92699 souls.
To improve infrastructure facilities in the city, proposals
for augmentation of Water Supply, Sewerage, etc. of worth
104.86 crores have been tentatively identified by line agency
concerned/District Administration. District Collector is
working for identifying the total likely investments based
on the priority work and deficiencies in the infrastructure
sectors in consultation with public representatives including
other infrastructure development work like solid waste management,
road connectivity, bridges, drainage and development of
water bodies work etc.

To improve infrastructure facilities in the city,
proposals for augmentation of Water Supply (Rs. 29.55 Crores),
Sewerage (Rs 37.00 Crores), Urban Transport and Roads(Rs 25.00
Crores), Social Infrastructure(Rs 1.00 Crores) and heritage (Rs.1.00Crores)
has been identified by concerned line agency / District Administration.
Total cost is Rs. 102.86 Crores. District Collector is
working for identifying the total likely investments based on
the priority works and deficiencies in the infrastructure sectors
in consultation with public representatives including other
infrastructure development works like
Solid Waste Management, road connectivity, Bridges,
Drainage and Development of Water Bodies works etc.
