· Dholpur is an important Eastern district of Rajasthan. It is located abutting territories of Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh and is Eastern gateway of Rajasthan. Dholpur is 270 kms from state capital Jaipur whereas world-fame, Taj Mahal at Agra is only 55 kms. The Gwalior city of Madhya Pradesh is at 63 kms on South. A bridge over river Parvati connects Dholpur with Uttar Pradesh and another bridge on river Chambal links it with Madhya Pradesh. National Highway number 3 passes through Dholpur and it is well connected with Agra, Gwalior and major cities of Rajasthan like Bharatpur, Alwar, Jaipur etc. by road network. It is also well connected with cities of North as well as South India by rail network. The population of City is 97795 souls as per Census 2001.
To improve infrastructure facilities in the city, proposals for augmentation of Water Supply, Sewerage, etc. of worth 71.83 crores have been tentatively identified by line agency concerned/District Administration. District Collector is working for identifying the total likely investments based on the priority work and deficiencies in the infrastructure sectors in consultation with public representatives including other infrastructure development work like solid waste management, road connectivity, bridges, drainage and development of water bodies work etc.

To improve infrastructure facilities in the city, proposals for augmentation of Water Supply (Rs. 31.22 Crores), Sewerage (Rs 31.40 Crores),Urban Transport and Roads(Rs.5.00 Crores), Solid Waste management(Rs.2.46 Crores), Social Infrastructure(Rs.1.25 Crores) and heritage(Rs.0.50 Crores) has been identified by concerned line agency / District Administration. Total cost is Rs. 71.83 Crores. District Collector is working for identifying the total likely investments based on the priority works and deficiencies in the infrastructure sectors in consultation with public representatives including other infrastructure development works like Solid Waste Management, road connectivity, Bridges, Drainage and Development of Water Bodies works etc.
