Jodhpur


In the project funded by ADB it was proposed to do 34 works. Looking to the site conditions works amounting to Rs. 194.84 crores will be executed. Out of these 34 works, 33 works have been completed and rests are in progress. A total expenditure of Rs. 193.00 Crore has been incurred so far in different sectors. Accordingly balance works amounting to Rs.1.84 Crores are yet to be completed
Water Supply Rehabilitation and Expansion

In order to provide water supply with adequate pressure, under water supply sector in Jodhpur 7 packages costing Rs 47.66 Cr have been sanctioned and expenditure of Rs 47.29 Cr has been incurred upto Aug., 2007. Under these packages RUIDP has taken up construction of 60 MLD Water Treatment Plant, 19 elevated reservoirs, 3 booster pumping station, replacement of 16 Nos pumping machinery, installation of 19 nos new pumpsets, 202 Km distribution pipe lines, 37 Km rising mains. Out of these 60 MLD capacity filter plant, clear water reservoir of 55 lac liters at Kailana, booster and integrated pumping station at Kabir Nagar, Baiji ka talab & Girdhar Mandir have been commissioned and connected with the existing system. Commissioning of WTP at Kailana has increased water supply to Jodhpur city by 600 lac liters and has also resulted in saving of power charges due to the gravity mains. Water supply from 19 service reservoirs at various locations has become functional. Complete network of pipelines & rising mains have been commissioned and are being used by PHED since May 2005.

Sewerage Sector


In this sector,for proper management of sewage wast it is proposed to lay sewer lines in colonies of the city according to geographical and natural slope of the city and through sewage treatment plant. In this sector it is planned to lay 415 km RCC sewer line of 150 mm to 1600 mm diameter & UPVC Line of 110 mm to 160 mm. This work is being executed through 12 packages costing an amount of Rs. 75.96 crores . 11 packages have been completed and remaining One is likely to be completed by Dec.,07 due to taken up additional work to construct 3 MLD sewerage pumping stations at Chandpole.and is under progress. Up till now 415 km of sewer line including outfall sewer line in various areas like Military Hospital, Laxmi Nagar, B.J.S., Kirti Nagar, Chainpura, Maderna Colony, Sardar Club, Kudi Bhagtasani, Paota Area, Chopasani Housing Board, Shankar Nagar, Kamla Nehru Nagar, Dev Nagar, Masuriya, Pal, Sursagar, Kabir Nagar, Rajbag etc, lines has been laid & works are under progress. In addition to this sewage treatment plant of 20 MLD capacity constructed at Nandri. The work of Nandari is completed.

Drainage

In this sector, two packages of rehabilitation and partial reconstruction of various drains of the areas viz. Umed Sagar canal, khatarnak Pulia, Rotary Choraha, Section- 7, Bus stand, Collecterate and Raika Bag area's drain is proposed and the work of khatarnak Pulia, Raika Bagh Bus stand, Collecterate has been completed. Up till now the work of 32 km drain has been done.


Solid Waste Management


For better Solid Waste Management the work of construction of one land fill site in Keru is completed. To buy equipments for this, there is provision of Rs.38 lakhs. In addition to this various equipments including one bulldozer, 1 way bridge excavator machine and 7 sewer cleaning Jetting machines has been provided to the Municipality.

Fire Fighting Services

In order to increase the coverage for fire fighting, reduce the response time and to provide better resources, greater mobility of fire fighting services to cover the large area and population of Jodhpur city against fire hazards, the fire fighting services of Jodhpur are being strengthen by RUIDP. Under this the construction work of 3 fire stations in Shashtri Nagar, Nagauri Gate and Mandor has been completed. The cost of this package is Rs.77 lakhs and up till now Rs.83.00 lakhs has been spend. In addition to this Fire fighting equipments have already been purchased and handed over to municipality.

Slum Improvement


It is proposed to have necessary facilities like Road, Drain and Pipe Line in 68 identified slum areas. Work has been completed in all the 68 colonies namely - Jagjeevan Ram Colony, Banjara Basti, Sansi Basti, Harijan Basti - Badvasiya, Kaga Shitala Mata Basti, Harijan Basti, Meghwal Basti - Kaga, Ram Bagh Colony etc. Works is under progress in Khetanadi & Maderna Colony. Under these works 40.50 km. CC Road & 4 km Drains have been constructed. 30.56 km long water pipe line and 32.50 km sewer line has been laid. The cost of these works is Rs.14.38 crores and up till now Rs.1491 lakhs has been spend.

Railway Over Bridges


Railway Bridge at Basni

There are many railway lines crisscrossing the city which forms physical barriers in the development of the city. The general public is facing lot of inconvenience at Railway Level Crossings as well as some part of the city where traffic density is much more. In order to solve this problem RUIDP has undertaken up work of three Railway Over Bridges at Mandor, Basni and Rasala. The works of Mandor, Basni , Rasala ROB have been completed and opened for traffic.


Widening and Strengthening of Roads

In order to improve the traffic management of the city and to improve the quality of roads to reduce congestion, pollution and vehicle operating cost, RUIDP has taken up the task of widening and strengthening of roads in Jodhpur city. The work of reconstruction and expansion of 42.50 km road of Rs. 19.42 crores. 42.50 km. work has been completed. In total 10 works of road which includes Nagauri Gate to Mahamandir Chouraha, Akhliya Chouraha to Pratap Nagar Junction, Pavta 'C' Road, Kandoi Bazar to Sojati Gate, Lal Sagar to Nagaur Road through Gokulji ki Piao, Jalori Gate to Fateh Pole, Pavta Circle to Airport, Akhaliya to Soorsagar and Mohanpura to Bhati Chauraha has been completed.

Development of Ponds

There is one heritage package for renovation of Gulab Sagar & Fateh Sagar water bodies amounting to Rs.217 lacs, which has been completed.
